Ardán and Galway City of Film are delighted to announce the opening of applications for the Misléor Short Documentary Grant for 2024! This annual funding and mentorship scheme is open to emerging filmmakers from the Traveller community.
Applicants must be aged 18+ and be based in County Galway OR telling a story connected to County Galway. There is 3,000€ in funding available to the successful applicant, as well as mentorship while producing a short documentary. The short documentary will then premiere at the Misleór Festival of Nomadic Cultures this September.
This is the fourth year of the funding and mentorship scheme. Read about last year’s recipient – Kate Warde – and her experience of taking part and making her short documentary My Sister, My Best Friend with mentor Alice McDowell and editor Julie Flavin.
There’ll be an information day at Ballinasloe Enterprise Centre on Tuesday, June 25th, at 2pm. REGISTER HERE.
