The Dingle International Film Festival wrapped up last night with the winner of the annual Físín pitching competition being announced.
Tristan Heanue’s script Ciúnas (Silence) was the selected project and will receive a cash prize along with equipment rental from Vast Valley Ltd. The story revolves around a family trying to come to terms with an attempted suicide and the stigma.
The project will be produced by IFTA winner Éamonn Ó Cualáin, who pitched the project along with Heanue. The project will go into production this summer in Connemara and is scheduled to premiere at the 2019 Dingle International Film Festival.
The Físín competition is an annual competition since 2011 that targets and encourages filmmaking in the Irish language.
