Little Cinema is back in action this August 29th!

We’re delighted to see that Little Cinema are back at it again later this month with their August 23rd screening.

Starting at 9pm in the Roisin Dubh, Little Cinema have a great line up of sketches, short films, and music videos for you to feast your eyes on!

Galway Arts Centre seeks submissions for Culture Night!

The Galway Arts Centre will be hosting the ‘Lost and Found’ short film screening for this year’s Culture Night on September 21st.

They are now open for submissions of short films to be screened for this event, so be sure to send your films on for their consideration!

Their program hopes to screen brave original films that explore themes of things lost, transience, and the temporary or unexpected.

The deadline is September 7th, so be sure to send your submissions on to gacsubmissions@gmail.com

Shorelines Arts Festival Box Office open!

Good News! The Shorelines Arts Festival has opened its Box Office and launched its programme!

The Shorelines Arts Festival runs in Portumna, from Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th of September and has a wide variety of film screenings as part of their festival.

From a screening of Song of the Sea to a robust shorts programme featuring winners from this year’s and last year’s Galway Film Fleadh, Shorelines Arts Festival is a must for fans of Irish and Galway Cinema.

Sanctuary showing on RTE 1!

Fantastic news! Sanctuary will be showing on RTE 1 on Friday August 17th at 11.30pm.

Written by Galway writer Christian O’Reilly, and directed by Len Collin, Sanctuary follows the story of Larry and Sophie, two people with intellectual disabilities who long to be together in a world that does everything to keep them apart.

For everyone out there who has heard about this amazing film, but has not got a chance to watch it, be sure to tune in and enjoy this Galway-made movie.

The Postcard now available on Aer Lingus flights!

The winning film of the 2017 Galway City of Film and Little Cinema 48 Hour Challenge, The Postcard is now available for viewing on all transatlantic Aer Lingus flights.

Created by the team ‘The Hasty Fellows’ and directed by Liza Bolton, The Postcard follows the story of Lucky O’Toole (Áine Gallagher) who was featured in a famous postcard as a child and now seeks to relive that fame by taking part in a documentary that will recreate that famous postcard.

The Postcard will be available throughout August and September.

THE POSTCARD to be available to screen on Aer Lingus Transatlantic flights!

The winning film from the 2017’s Little Cinema & Galway City of Film 48 Hour Challenge ‘THE POSTCARD’ will be available to view on all Aer Lingus transatlantic flights this August and September.

THE POSTCARD was directed by Liza Bolton and was completed by the team ‘The Hasty Fellows’ during the Little Cinema & Galway City of Film 48 Hour Challenge in June 2017. The challenge invited teams of filmmakers to Galway to – write, shoot, and edit – their films in just 48 hours!

‘The Hasty Fellows’ team was made up of Liza Bolton, Nigel Gilhooly, Derek Donlon, Chris Bolton, Mia Camillini, Sorcha Cradock, David Coffey, Graham Keane, Áine Gallagher and Craig Stewart.

THE POSTCARD has also enjoyed screenings at the Galway Film Fleadh and both national and international film festivals.
